The scene we cut
The bridge
No CGI. A real truck, a real rope bridge, a real river in flood. The most dangerous scene ever shot.
The bridge cost around a million dollars to build and the river it was built over dried up, so the whole thing was taken apart and rebuilt in Mexico. Friedkin ran the trucks over it for real and the drivers went into the water more than once.
